Terms of Use
Last updated: 24 October 2026
These terms apply to the Heartstreak app (“the app”), published by Medialy, s.r.o., Žitava 1637/47, 952 01 Vráble, Slovakia (“we”, “us”). By using the app you agree to them. The app is distributed through the Apple App Store, so Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/) also applies. Where these terms and Apple’s agreement differ, these terms apply to the extent the law allows.
1. What Heartstreak is
Heartstreak is a self-help app that helps you keep no contact after a breakup: a streak counter, tools for moments when you want to reach out, a private journal and related features.
It is not therapy, medical advice, diagnosis or a crisis service. Nothing in the app replaces a doctor, psychologist or emergency help. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line immediately.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the app.
2. Your content
What you write or record in the app (journal, unsent messages, reality check, photos, voice notes) stays on your device and belongs to you. We do not have access to it. You are responsible for keeping backups if you want them; deleting the app deletes this content.
3. Free and Premium
Core features, including SOS, are free. Heartstreak Premium unlocks additional features described on the paywall.
4. Subscriptions
- Plans: yearly, 3-month (“No Contact Season”) and monthly. Current prices are shown in the app and in the App Store before you buy, in your local currency.
- Free trial: the yearly plan may include a free trial. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, you are charged for the yearly plan.
- Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple account is charged within 24 hours before renewal.
- Cancelling: in iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or from Settings → Subscription in the app. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Premium until the end of the paid period.
- Offers: introductory, promotional or code offers apply only as described when you accept them.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Apple under App Store terms. Refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- EU consumers: by starting a subscription you request immediate access to digital content and acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal once access begins, as permitted by EU consumer law. This does not limit your rights under Apple’s refund policy.
5. Acceptable use
Do not reverse engineer, copy or resell the app, misuse its features to harass anyone, or try to access other people’s data. The Guard feature may only be used on your own device.
6. Intellectual property
The app, Patch, the artwork, text and code are owned by Medialy, s.r.o. and licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use on Apple devices you own or control.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the app reliable but do not guarantee it will be error-free or always available. We may change, add or remove features. If we remove a core Premium feature, active subscribers will be told in advance.
8. Liability
The app is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of data stored on your device, or decisions you make based on the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Slovak Republic. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring claims in the courts there. EU consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
